Invitation to the 10th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research
It is our pleasure to announce the 10th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research on 7-8 October, 2011, the focus of which is “Institutional Models in Infrastructure Sectors – Conceptual Issues and Empirical Evidence”. The INFRADAY is a forum of debate among academia, practitioners, and policy makers. It is hosted by the Workgroup for Infrastructure Policy (WIP) at Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Institute for Economic Policy Research (IWW) at University Karlsruhe.
It is our pleasure to welcome two keynote speakers from overseas, Prof. Frank Ward (State University New Mexico) and Dr. David Saal (Aston Business School) as well as Prof. Ottmar Edenhofer, PIK/TU and Chair of Working Group III of the IPCC.
The first day of the conference is dedicated to challenges of Water Policy, Realizing Infrastructure Projects, new Perspectives on Road Pricing and Renewables Energy Policies. The topics of the second day as well as further details of the program can be found in the attached Program. Within the frame of the conference, the Hans-Jürgen-Ewers-Prize for applied infrastructure research will be awarded for the ninth time.
Let us also highlight that this year’s Infraday includes a full stream of Water session, and is thus following up on last year’s Waterday, so that this sector is now well represented, too. Likewise, transport and energy sessions are plentiful, so that a good balance between the infrastructure sectors is struck.
We cordially invite you to participate in this year’s INFRADAY. Please register online by Monday, 3 October, latest. The participation fee is 250 Euro, a reduced fee of 100 Euro applies to participants from public institutions. A special tariff of 40 Euro applies to Students (Diploma, Master and Bachelor).
For questions and further information regarding INFRADAY, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail under firstname.lastname@example.org .
Looking forward to seeing you in Berlin,
Thorsten Beckers (Scientific Coordinator WIP)
