Invitation to the 9th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research
Sustainable infrastructure is an increasingly important issue, be it in energy, transportation, telecommunication, or water. It is therefore our pleasure to announce the 9th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research on 8-9 October, 2010, the focus of which is “Sustainable Infrastructure – Theoretical and Policy Challenges”. The Infraday is a forum of debate among academia, practitioners, and policy makers. It is hosted by the Workgroup for Infrastructure Policy (WIP) at Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), the Institute for Economic Policy Research (IWW) at University Karlsruhe, and the Chair for Energy Economics & Public Sector Management (EE2) at Dresden University of Technology.
It is our pleasure to announce a program of high quality. Keynote contributions will be provided by Dr. Hermann Scheer (Member of the German Parliament, EUROSOLAR, WCRE), Phil Burns (Frontier Economics, London), Prof. Dr. Steven Gabriel (Univ. of Maryland), Christophe Schramm (European Commission, DG Ener), as well as industry representatives. The first day of the conference is dedicated to challenges for a Sustainable Infrastructure in 2050, and to the issue of Energy Efficiency, inherent Market Barriers and Policy Responses. The topics of the second day as well as further details of the program can be found here. Within the frame of the conference, the Hans-Jürgen-Ewers-Prize for applied infrastructure research will be awarded for the eighth time.
