Invitation to the 7th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research
The Workgroup for Infrastructure Policy (WIP) and the Center for Network Industries and Infrastructure (CNI) at Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), and the Chair for Energy Economics & Public Sector Management (EE2) at Dresden University of Technology will hold the
7th Conference on Applied Infrastructure Research on 10-11 October, 2008.
It is a forum of debate among academia, practitioners, and policy makers. This year’s topic is “New Challenges to Infrastructure Theory and Policy – Markets and Planning, Development and Sustainability”. The sectoral foci are transport, energy, telecommunication & internet, water, waste, and the health sector.
It is our pleasure to announce a program of high quality. The Keynote Speeches will be held by Denny Ellerman (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Justus Haucap (University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Monopolies Commission), Forsyth (Monash University) and Bert Willems (TILEC, University of Tilburg). The first day of the conference is dedicated to climate policy and its implications for the transport sector, and to the issue of incentive regulation in network industries. The topics of the second day as well as further details of the program can be found here . Within the frame of the conference, the Hans-Jürgen-Ewers-Prize for applied infrastructure research will be awarded for the sixth time.
